This is a quick guide to a way to be able to view groups flagged on Telegram as being for over 18 only. Please only follow these steps if you are over the age of 18 – a lot of community groups run on this mutual respect and do not want to get into legal trouble.
First of all, you’ll need to login to Telegram using their web client which is available at https://web.telegram.org/ using your mobile number as normal. You can do this in a mobile browser such as Safari, or from a laptop or desktop computer.
Now, navigate to your account settings, then to Privacy and Security. Scroll down to the bottom, and check the box saying “Disable Filtering”.
The changes should be applied immediately and you can enjoy access to various groups on all your devices.
Note: you do sometimes get the group profile picture disappearing, however everything else is functional.
